Your place on the team - and your scholarship – are at risk if you don’t stay healthy.
Committing to a college or university is JUST the beginning.
You need what your coaches can’t give you: personalized ongoing support to keep you healthy physically and mentally and reduce the chances of career-ending injury.
Read on to find out how SPORTACUS can keep you in the game.
"Among the 500,000 or so college athletes who compete annually under the auspices of the NCAA there are more than 210,000 injuries per year, according to one estimate, ranging from minor to catastrophic and fatal.". (Guardian report, 2021.)
"But when it comes to the most common athletic injuries, college sports injury statistics show that knee injuries are number 1. A study by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) found that knee injuries accounted for more than 35% of all sports-related injuries suffered by college student-athletes during a five-year period". (https://agspecialtyinsurance.com)
"An ACL tear is the most severe and common sports knee injury, accounting for about 40% of traumas. ACL tears are often career-ending". (https://agspecialtyinsurance.com)
Across all divisions and seasons, the rate of game injuries was 3.5 times higher than the rate of practice injuries. These rates equate to 1 injury every 2 games and 1 injury every 5 practices for a team of 50 participants, according to research in the Journal of Athletic Training.
Outside of high-level contact sports, most injuries are NOT due to trauma.
They are misuse or over-use problems.
That means they can be prevented.
That means they can be resolved quickly IF you have individual, professional guidance.
That means an end to mindless, out of date prescriptions of rest, icing, pain-killers, cortisone shots, immobilizing props and the like. You deserve better.
Far more common are the nagging joint or soft tissue injuries that SHOULD only temporarily derail progress.
Things like hip flexor strains, ankle sprains, concussions, stress fractures, broken bones, groin pulls, sciatica, shin splints, hamstring strains, and shoulder injuries.
Typical responses to injuries can include:
* Your coaches, trainers, family and friends do not have the expertise to give you the focused, individual therapy and support you need to get back in the game.
* You have the "injured" label.
* You're off the team, out of sight and out of mind.
* Sudden stigma from your teammates.
* Your hopes for that next Personal Record are out of reach.
* Your sponsorship could be jeopardize.
* Your progress in training may come to a grinding halt.
* You could have weeks or months of rehab limiting your conditioning.
* Mental challenges and self-confidence could be long lasting.
* Your self-doubt creeps in - and realistically, will you ever manage to get back to the same level?

At Sportacus,I believe that all sports have the power to build dreams and exeptional character traits that separate you from the pack.
My purpose is to keep athletes healthy and competitive by offering revolutionary techniques and strategies.
I found my calling and discovered in my teens, some 35+ years ago. Through self-discipline & consistency, and dedication to bettering myself- I saw the fruits of my labor. and knew that was the recipe for success.
The 1-2% edge is what I give my athletes. One doesn't realize they'll be competing against their own teammate for a starting position; and more importantly, a scholarship.
So many athletes careers end in unexpected ways. Whether it is an injury, a coaching change, or getting replaced by another teammate. One's identity gets wrapped into your sport that it is very difficult to transition out.
